Dream 01 ❀ "Wishing you were somehow here again"

Effects: A sense of longing and hopelessness that turns to a bit of anxiousness and excitement with a few moments of an unsure feeling.

[There's an odd scent in the air. Burning incense. Not a normal scent to burn either. What is it? You might not want to know. But there is a girl lighting candles in a dim little basement of a room with a hopeful smile on her fact that seems to like it. There are a number of materials scattered about.

Preparations for a summoning ritual.

There is something utterly dark and magical about the items and the preparations in general.]

I want to see him again...

[She doesn't say who at first, but he's foremost in her thoughts.]

Vincent...

[The sound of her voice is a bit unsure, and still it is longing.]

I have so many questions I want to ask you...

[And she goes back to her ritual, thinking to herself. It's not until the ritual is just about complete that she wakes up with a start.]

[There was no point in trying to fool him, was there? Even if he didn't know much, she was sure he was smart enough to figure out what sort of thing it was that she had been attempting to do.]

I suppose I don't. [She laughs a bit, eyes downcast.] But then... I suppose that's why no one would have ever guessed. [And why it had been a secret all this time. At least... until now.]

Well, not since coming here. I've considered it... back home I used to study all sorts of magic.

[Yeah, she really... never seemed the type. That's suspicious stuff, and she's such a... proper woman, outwardly? Huh.]

My uncle gave me a second home just for myself... and for guests, since I wasn't allowed to invite them to the main house. So I spent a lot of time there. It had to be a secret, so I chose to study in the basement. Before long I had collected a large number of artifacts and now, the basement is full of books and various treasures. And no one else knows.

[Too bad you'd never gotten the opportunity to see it Leo, it was quite impressive.]

Fortunes, spells, rituals, mysterious artifacts, arcane torture... the occult is made up of many things.

Well I've only tried a few things... [It needed to be kept low profile after all, and she had to be careful of 'accidents'.] But what I have tried has been fairly reliable. And well... since coming here... I thought about trying some other things, since it could be better concealed without those back home finding out.

Well Somarium is a large place, I'm sure there's somewhere... or... if not... perhaps even with a lock.

Back home someone might be more inclined to find a locked room like that suspicious, but here, if it was in the right place, I'm sure no one would think anything of it. And if it was secluded and private then...

[I'm sure you can imagine. Anything could happen. And even if discovered... they couldn't be punished like they could have been back home.]
