[The Dreamberry is seated next to Ada, who can be seen picking and studying flowers in the field. She looks rather happy about it, humming softly to herself.

While she has a number of different flowers gathered in a small bouquet at her side, she still seems determined.]

I wonder what sort of flower Miss Vanessa would like.

[She hums thoughtfully to herself.]

I have to do something to thank her for agreeing to teach me.

[Her eyes finally rest on a beautiful red flower. The vibrant color of the flower makes her think of Vanessa in a way. It's an amaryllis, she remembers, after a long moment of thought.]

Maybe this one. I wonder if she'll like it. I hope so.

[Ada happily plucks the flowers, careful to preserve the stems the same way she watched Vanessa.]

Lesson one: don't choose a flower for someone based on what it looks like! An ugly flower can have a beautiful meaning, and something that you find pleasing can send the wrong message!

[Ada should have seen that coming, really, but she'd wanted to do something nice in return and well... for the subject at hand, it really was the only gift she could think of. She probably should have done some studying first too... This certainly wouldn't be easy.]

[Admittedly, she could have said all of that a little nicer, but. Well. THIS IS IMPORTANT, OKAY. But she does calm her tone before speaking again.]

Tell me. What message are you hoping to send to me along with that flower?

[Right. Message... It was admittedly much harder to say to Vanessa's face than it might have been to just hand her the flower and say thank you, especially now that she'd been scolded already. But Vanessa deserved to hear it.]

Ah... well... I really just wanted something to show you how grateful I am for what you're doing for me.

[She sighs, but doesn't comment on the gesture behind it. No, this is nothing more than a lesson.]

Gratitude. The bellflower represents gratitude, but a dark pink rose is more commonly sent to express it. Add white violets for modesty or a white lily for a pure heart.

[A pause.]

Not that you should actually do any of these things for me! This is only a lesson!

[Of course she knows Vanessa wouldn't tell her this for the sake of hoping to receive something of the sort, but even so, that doesn't mean that Ada won't try to do so. But... she won't say that. No. If she can she'll just do it and leave it for Vanessa. Even if she said she didn't need to, she still thought that Vanessa would like them if she received them.]

Ah... I see.

[It's a lot to take in but she works hard to; nodding.]

Then... what you find beautiful about flowers is not it's appearance, but it's meaning? If that is the case... do you have a favorite flower Miss Vanessa?

[She's curious. And if Vanessa does, she'd like to know what sort of meaning such a flower would hold.]

[She frowns, considering the question. That really isn't the point of why nobility learned such things, but flower arranging was also an important skill to have, and that was more about aesthetics than meaning for the most part. She sighs and waves her hand dismissively.]

Dahlias. They stand for elegance and dignity. I'm also fond of marigolds.

[But she refrains from explaining that marigolds represent grief and pain.]

[Elegance and dignity... wonderful traits. It was fitting, Ada thought. It seemed like Vanessa to like something like that. But then...

Marigolds. That was what Elliot had told her.]

Oh! Elliot mentioned that you liked marigolds.

[She was proud to know this now, and didn't realize that it might not be the wisest to give Elliot up like that.]

[Nope, not wise at all. There's a moment of shock on her face before it melts into nothing but anger.]
