[There's an odd scent in the air. Burning incense. Not a normal scent to burn either. What is it? You might not want to know. But there is a girl lighting candles in a dim little basement of a room with a hopeful smile on her fact that seems to like it. There are a number of materials scattered about.

Preparations for a summoning ritual.

There is something utterly dark and magical about the items and the preparations in general.]

I want to see him again...

[She doesn't say who at first, but he's foremost in her thoughts.]

Vincent...

[The sound of her voice is a bit unsure, and still it is longing.]

I have so many questions I want to ask you...

[And she goes back to her ritual, thinking to herself. It's not until the ritual is just about complete that she wakes up with a start.]

So now, of course there was a lump in her throat, painfully lodged there as she tried to speak - tried to think of a way to describe or explain, but really... how could she? It was exactly as it seemed.]

Umm... [Let's see, what did Tsubaki tell her again?] Where I'm from, the world is covered in this substance called seithr. We use it to make a less complicated form of magic called ars magus. It can do things like make light, control the weather, or even heal people. It has a a lot of uses.

[Ada listens and nods as she takes it all in, a few words at a time. But even if she doesn't understand it entirely, just hearing about it is interesting to her.]

Well, I guess anyone can use the most simplest forms, like turning on the lights. But the more complicated ones require you to attend the Academy and have a high aptitude rating. [She smiles self-deprecatingly.] The only reason I managed to get enrolled was because my aptitude was off the charts.

[Ada giggles. On the other hand, she doesn't believe there's any reason Noel shouldn't have been able to. After all, she thinks her friend is very strong.]
